The Ballard of Wallace Island

The Ballard of Wallace island.

I’m an awkward single man in his late 40’s. I mean I work a lot on being charming and just presentable but when I meet someone I really like or feel nervous the babble kicks in and I go out and try hard. Also, when I like to pretend I was moderately famous, I can be very demanding, especially from fans of the capes and japes of my Edinburgh era. I swiftly get all alpha and pretend the xero star reviews and debts and constant anxiety didn’t hit me in any way.

The ballad of wallace island is a delicate dance of showing those ranged in men like me. I loved it. It’s this year’s brian and Charles. It manages to take the nonsense that is going on in the reality of male fragility without being the weight of the world or angry not a cat person guy we see being the crux of so many man lead films.

It’s set in  a wonderful scenic vista adrift from the world like an 80s ad. As we watch tom basdens abruptness unravel and tim key theory verbolate we can’t help but be warmed by them

But it’s not two men and an awkward need for rice.

I can’t help but say I really needed this film. It seems so many of my pers are looking for the past to return and yet not look at why it left them. Best depicted in tom interchange with Carey Mulligan, while her new beau goes looking for puffins.

But there is a moment of quiet romance and intimacy in a place that could be so remote and yet filmed in such a heartening fashion.

I cried towards the end. Laughed annoying throughout in a small screening and urge you all to do the same.

And his teeth do look shit.
