CSM character animation showcase part 2

Timeless, Fabian Maxwell Drake

Journeys of culture though time can be a hard story to tell. Epics can become abstraction too quickly, and plot replaces character in the blink of disaffection. Timeless avoids this by keeping a warm style and a beating heart of human engagement and curiosity form us the viewer, and it is rewarded with a verisimilitude of perspectives that cohere more the initial cacophony of vision may imply. It’s worth reviewing and rewatching when one can.

A Clayful adventure

Desktop adventures are familiar to my generation of Morph lovers. Compounded though with the big lamp , little lamp of pixar. However hard the textures are in this animated feature, the warmth of a kiln is embedded in the heart of this production. The interplay between our characters shows a versatility or range both material and emotional in the pieces that deserve seeking out for even the most hardened viewer.

Mann

The dating world is difficult for me as a single 40something. Frankly I have opted out for so long it feels like the pension plan i was too busy spending the money on scratch cards to appreciate the value. But the world of Gen Z dating is on such a level of status anxiety and digit tech neurosis even the funniest stories give me the fear. Mann shows there is a world of folk out there all ready to make you feel better, not through companionship, but rather the cosy warmth of isolation. Hilarious and intuitive in its depictions of delusion its worth matching up with when you can

Root Rotn Ash De Mel

I had this, it was an abscess. It hurt for a bit, but then it stopped. I thought the pain meant the problem was over. But it became sticky, icky and messy. I finally saw a dentist and they explained that when the pain has gone its when the real rot has gotten in. I had a choice. Root canal to attempt to save, at a small chance. Or full extraction at 2:30. This says a lot about couples and my own mistakes in the past. Clanging on while the puss fills around the foundation. It’s tragic, comic and colourful and worth seeing with a palette cleanser for the day.
