Ok not Ok
I call the site The Irish Indian Times. It’s a nod to my background while I continue to write reviews. My background informs me; it doesn’t define me. This short is a hilariously bleak rom-com as we Gogglebox a couple and their dynamic together. Loretta is all hyper-animated, passionate, and sharp. It is an incredibly charismatic performance from Bairavi Manoharan. She brings a sense of Bridget Jones and that hyper-achieving cousin Kamjit. Kamjit is ready to win Asian Businesswoman of the Year. However, she comes second. She spends the rest of the year hate-scrolling the winner. Jay Taylor-Zane is somewhat stoic. He is increasingly indifferent and rather blasé. He is a hard character to play and care about. He seems to have been on the privilege rails of ho-hum I always envy. The film itself is mainly set in the living rooms. It contains every aspect of kitchen and bedroom life. The production level for sound and lighting allows the quite scary world to encroach. It permeates their intimacy. You can see why Loretta clings to this relationship. The jokes and commentary are so multifaceted. You can’t miss out. Seek this film and upgrade your sensibilities.
