Well, I have not seen a worse payoff since Bobby got out of the shower.

I mentioned earlier in my reviews that the story of the humble boy with meagre beginnings has always been a hook. And as a younger man with nd difficult post-20 career life with class and economics shadowing many opportunities, they always resonate for me. But this was telling billy liar not only should he not get on the bus, but he should stop writing, knock up a nice girl and try to stay off the booze in bedsit land.

We are promising so much to be realised. Yet we are creating every convoluted circumstance of connection with no significance whatsoever. All we have is a lush balloon, not even a cake. 

As we experience a succession of convenient events, most centred around Mr. c portion, to a level that ”s frankly absurd even in a storyline by frank miller. The dripping machismo os this version has just become aabsolutelytoxic. Joe is the only real innocent in it all , and while played nobly by Owen McDonnell, is still seems to be a shortfall and a compromise, some sort of picture of simplteon rather than simple life derided by most of the other characters.

Pip himself has continued a life of petulance and spite. His own plans for suicide, depicted in the first episode, come to the fore. But after everything else, they are hard to understand on a narrative level, given the other hardships and emotional turmoil he has had to overcome. 

It feels like what was made only to add a scene into the first episode and work back to it., which could be better in structure.

The ebay this episode has to offer is more the magical realism and fantastical gothic noir of the heversham estate. Haversahm and eEstrellaargue and fight socially for dominance ,and the roots ,like the tree crashing into the house ,are laid bare. Aberrant fathers and lovers return. And the brut and blood of hearts run rampant. But iit’ssuch a small part of the narrative one wonders if this should have been tdifferent from the story. Over the last six episodes, pip has been the least of it. Less than a cypher and no concern for him than with him could be shown

But how we resolve the struggle of these two men,magwitch and Compeson, is different from the final ending. 

Pip marries the girl next door. And tends the forge. And the whole London event is a dark dream that only makes him comfortable in his place. He almost resigned to seeing his learning as a liability more than an enriching experience. 2023 that is galling, it spheric IIt’swhite actresses filing in poverty-stricken Asian and African counties and wishing they could have the spiritual calm of the locals. I detested it. 

The pairing of Estrella and Jaggers a year on at the dance, meaning some courtship, is loaded more than high ball flintlock in my face. This is the end of Knights’ dalliance with taking the dickens as it needed to be more robust.
